- —City — general location for event discovery (we do NOT collect or store your full address)
- —Lifestyle tags — interest tags you voluntarily select on your profile
- —Event interactions — events you create, attend, or apply to
- —Usage data — basic analytics such as page views (no cross-site tracking)
We do not collect full addresses, phone numbers, government IDs, or financial information (payments are not yet enabled).
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- —Authenticate your account and maintain your session
- —Display your profile to other members based on your privacy settings
- —Match you with relevant events and community members based on lifestyle tags and location
- —Send essential platform communications (account confirmations, security notices)
- —Improve platform features and performance
3. We Never Sell Your Data
Velvet does not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Ever.Your data stays within Velvet's systems and is used only as described in this policy.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We limit access to user data to essential platform operations only. We do not store payment card data.
5. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- —Access — you can view your profile data at any time from your profile page
- —Edit — update or remove your display name, bio, city, and lifestyle tags at any time
- —Delete — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from profile settings. This action is irreversible.
- —Export — contact us to request a copy of your data

If you are a resident of the European Union or the State of California, you have additional rights under the GDPR and CCPA respectively:
